DS106 – “Midpoint Story”

Daily Creates

After reviewing each of my Daily Create assignments, I can definitely tell that I have made progress on how to integrate my creation onto the page. My first Daily Create page featured a link to my Twitter with the DC itself on the account. Since then, I have learned how to embed tweets and other images into my pages, which makes the viewing experience so much easier for others.

Through viewing my work for these assignments, I also learned that I do truly put a lot of myself into the content I create. A huge part of who I am is my belief and strive for a sustainable planet and I was sure to incorporate that into one of my DCs (DC6), showing how I would change a landscape to be more eco-friendly. My blog truly shows this side of me, but it was fun to let it show through my DS’s for once.

I also show my love for drawing through my DC assignments. I recently bought an iPad this year and have been drawing on it any time I can since. These DC prompts really allow me to show my drawing skills through my creations and give me much-needed practice drawing on an electronic device, which I am still getting the hang of.

DS106 Assignments

I believe my DS106 Assignments really allow for me to express more of who I am than the DCs. They usually encompass the task of using a photo you have taken in order to complete the prompt, like the pet GIF or the panorama image. I noticed that I shared a lot of personal info from the start and felt very comfortable being honest explaining each assignment, which I feel is required in order to add a personal touch to the assignment.

The DS106 Assignment I am most proud of is Meme 1, which is interesting since it was our first DS106 Assignment. We had to choose an image of someone, overlay a quote by someone else over it, and name the speaker of the quote, who was actually another person. For this assignment, I chose a photo of Marie Antoinette and overlayed a quote from some random guy, and made the quote by Martha Stewart. I think it was a hilarious Meme that made so much sense and really showed my sense of humor.

I also absolutely LOVE my Meme 2 because I think it is hilarious and right up my alley of humor. I also incorporated a photo of my Mom that I took, which adds a personal touch to the photo. Lastly, Meme 3, to me, is very very funny and my sarcastic humor definitely shines through.

My Image 1 shows a lot of who I am because it highlights all of my favorite places I’ve ever gone. Hiking and traveling are both huge parts of my life and getting to share all of the beautiful places I’ve been and the photos I’ve taken (I do photography), brings me so much joy.
